[..YouTube..] My wife got the N97 this week. Its a great phone but to be honest id be perhaps slightly disappointed if it were the best phone for me on the market right now. But shes over the moon with it and the keyboard took her (and me) all of 5 minutes to get use to. Many people slate that keyboard but nokia arent that stupid.

But good if your blind i guess, but the best bit is it also reads out swear words, We havent found a swear word yet that it doesnt understand!! Its got a couple of glitches on our phone but i guess thats just because is so new. My N95 and N95 8GB had the same issue but they were sorted out in a month or two.

Again though, this phone at 300-350 bucks vs the iphone 3g at 100 is actually a tough decision.

The iphone software is too unstable IMO, I’ve had to fix so many of them for my friends – they just freeze up and fail too easy. Having to restore, jailbroke and unlock atleast once a month becomes a PITA.

Youtube, Facebook access and WorldCard comes pre-installed. HTC’s Touch Flo is very user/thumb friendly. Great for one hand operation.
If you install WVGAFIX3 application on TP2, you will be able to lower/change screen resolution. This means you will be able to run applications on TP2 that weren’t even designed for it.

My old TyTn – yeah, still have it! – works ok, but TCPMP/CorePlayer makes it lag hard if I want to do anything else with it. That, and its limited HSDPA chipset suffers a bit with buffering or dropouts. Also, what’s its signal level like? My TyTn can suffer there a bit too.

Camera Flash was the only thing that kept me tied to my original TP, but since that broke and they didn’t have a replacement in the warehouse, I was sent a TP2.

Youtube, Facebook, Google Maps, Msn Messenger, Microsoft office mobile. There is no twitter app, but windows mobile has plenty of free 3rd party apps that are easy to download and install.

But shes over the moon with it and the keyboard took her (and me) all of 5 minutes to get use to. Many people slate that keyboard but nokia arent that stupid.

[..YouTube..] She got it on a free upgrade. The phone can “speak” text messages that you recieve. Maybe this is old technology now?? But good if your blind i guess, but the best bit is it also reads out swear words, We havent found a swear word yet that it doesnt understand!! Its got a couple of glitches on our phone but i guess thats just because is so new. My N95 and N95 8GB had the same issue but they were sorted out in a month or two.

[..YouTube..] Does T-Mobile even have the Palm Treo? Honestly I don’t even care, they have fell off harder than Blackberry. This phone may have youtube, music and other entertainment capabilities, but it should in no way be compared to the iphone. It seems like all these new touch screen phones are being compared to the iphone just because they are touch screens. If anything, it should be compared to a PDA. Its windows based, full QWERTY keypad, flip up screen, etc. all of which the iphone isn’t.

[..YouTube..] I don’t know about tmobile, I’m with Sprint. This phone will be, and can be compared to the iphone. It can be compared because every time some moron says the iphone is the “best phone” a phone like this will inevitably be mentioned.
With the iphone being 100 bucks, really there’s not a heck of a lot that you mentioned thats worth the extra 250 bucks. Many people I work with use iphones, and for what they use it for, it works fine.

[..YouTube..] Being based on windows mobile has it’s advantages and disadvantages. Really WM7 needs to hurry up and come out. Having the qwerty kb and screen are nice, but not something iphone users go ape shit for.
I usually mention things like flash in our browser, ability to load any app we want (like web video downloader, check it out, good porn) and so on.
Again though, this phone at 300-350 bucks vs the iphone 3g at 100 is actually a tough decision.

[..YouTube..] It’s actually an easy decision, every kid and their mother has the iphone. When someone sees me with the TP2 they are always excited and interested to know what it is because its different – it’s not just another iphone.
The iphone software is too unstable IMO, I’ve had to fix so many of them for my friends – they just freeze up and fail too easy. Having to restore, jailbroke and unlock atleast once a month becomes a PITA.

[..YouTube..] apple’s proprietary policies wont allow you to sync your itunes with any other device than an apple device. However, the mp3s that are on your computer can be transferred to any device that has a data port, you just have to do it manually.

My old TyTn – yeah, still have it! – works ok, but TCPMP/CorePlayer makes it lag hard if I want to do anything else with it. That, and its limited HSDPA chipset suffers a bit with buffering or dropouts. Also, what’s its signal level like? My TyTn can suffer there a bit too.
I feel strongly tempted to do another really techy video review when I get my TP2…

I’m not sure about other carriers but it’s around the same. NOTE!! Check with your company for special employee discounts! My company gives discounts on the phones (new line activation & upgrades) w/most major carriers. I get 27% off my monthly Sprint bill. The HTC Touch Pro 2 cost me only $149 as an upgrade (woulda been $49 if it were a new line).

[..YouTube..] I do appreciate the zoom bar on this phone. You just scroll to where you want and zoom in and out — much better than the wheel approach on the Touch Pro 1. It’s sort of close to the pinch and zoom on the iPhone IMO.

Camera Flash was the only thing that kept me tied to my original TP, but since that broke and they didn’t have a replacement in the warehouse, I was sent a TP2.
